Foreign court judgement has the same legal effect in North Macedonia only if it is recognized by a court in North Macedonia.
The submitter of the request for recognition of the foreign court judgement is obliged enclosed to its request to enclose the foreign court judgement in original or in certified copy and to enclose confirmation issued by the competent foreign court or other competent court authority in that country that the court judgement has entered into legal force according to the law of the country where the foreign judgment has been brought.
If with the request for recognition is also required execution of the foreign court judgment , the submitter of the request for recognition is obliged also to enclose confirmation on the enforceability of the foreign court judgement according to the law of the country where the foreign court judgement has been brought.
The submitter of the request is also obliged with the request for recognition to enclose certified official translation of the foreign judgment into Macedonian language.
For recognition of a foreign court judgement locally competent is each substantially competent court in North Macedonia.
